Wonderful read… just to add 2 things from experience to make meetings effective :

1. Circulate an agenda for discussion

2. For in-person meetings have a meeting on a high table with no chairs ( it will usually end on time !)

Thank you Aditya - the simplicity here is powerful. Do you have thoughts to share on the hybrid meeting? This is a new space for most - the rules of engagement when part of the team is together in a room and part virtual.

Great question - I don’t profess to have a great answer to this one. My only suggestions are to ensure that in case of a hybrid meeting people in the room are ultra careful and respectful of people on the screen. At every key juncture, stop and ask if there is any comment from someone on the screen. If someone on the screen says something, give them precedence. Email a pdf of the presentation so that you can keep people full face on the screen while using another device to read the presentation. Set up a designated person who is particularly mi still of meeting behaviour and intervenes when needed to make sure these rules are followed ….
